About

OfflineNook started as a shared note between three friends who kept losing their commute games the second the tunnel swallowed the signal. We got tired of downloading things labeled 'offline' that turned out to need a server for half their menus. So we started keeping a list, then the list turned into a site.,We only cover games we've actually installed and played, ideally with the phone in airplane mode to make sure the 'offline' claim holds up. If a game secretly phones home or bricks itself without WiFi, we say so. That's kind of the whole point.,Genres are all over the map here on purpose. Some days you want a slow RPG for a long train ride, some days you want a two-minute puzzle while the kettle boils. We try to keep the catalogue mixed so there's something for the mood you're in.,Nobody pays us to place a game higher. Ratings are just what the editors thought after spending real hours with the thing. Sometimes we disagree with each other, and when that happens we usually say that too.
