Playing offline without killing your battery
Offline gaming is often about long trips, and long trips are exactly when your battery matters most. A few habits go a long way.
Turning brightness down and enabling a game's own low-power mode, if it has one, made a noticeable difference in my testing. Racing games and RPGs are usually the hungriest.
Airplane mode itself actually helps here. With the radios off, your phone isn't burning power hunting for a signal it won't find underground or at altitude.
We now include a rough power-draw note in reviews when a game is unusually heavy. A great game that dies before your flight lands isn't much of a travel companion.
